Well done to everyone who took part in the Metalman Swim Series Pre Race. The weather conspired against us with heavy rain and wind making things tough and some ground-swell to boot! This meant we shortened the race to approximately 300 meters.
21 swimmers completed the race in challenging conditions on the 2nd beach in rosses point.
A lot of the swimmers had never done a race in the sea before and handled the new challenge with ease, setting themselves up nicely for the remaining events.
Thanks to everyone from the club who helped with marshalling and running the race. Special thanks to the guys who took to the water to provide safety for the swimmers, Kevin O'Donnell, Padraig Hanly, Scot Reid, Jan Canham and Matt McGarrigle.
