Mc Andrew nearly caught the salmon

Well done to Eamon Mc Andrew at the salmon run today in Ballina. Despite gaining a penalty he still managed to hold onto 2nd place just 20 seconds behind David Brennan of Castlebar CC/Liquid Motion. Eamon had broken the 1hr for a Sprint tri but was penalised and finished with a time of 1:00:58. Eamon is coming back into form after a minor hiccup of twins arriving mid season. If he keeps this form he should be on the podium for the Half Ironman at swinford but not likely for Rosses Point as the short recovery will be too much. Gary Higgins 1:01:13 was next home in 4th spot, Stewart mc Kenna 1:02:30 in 7th and Brian Sexton in 8th 1:03:39. This is probably the result of the season for Sligo Tri club with 4 members in the top ten and the lads taking a few formidable scalps like Tom O Dowd and Padraig Marrey.

A great turnout by Sligo Tri club members and the organisers were very appreciative of the strong showing from Sligo Tri. Well done to all other club members many achieving personal bests. Niall Melvin, Leo Donlon, Greg Kelly, Ashley Henry, Andy Hamilton, Kevin O Donnell, Enna Mc Hale, John Elliot, Edel, Gwen Hunter, Kieran Coleman, Pauric Deerey, Edel Hunt, Aidan Carty, Bernie O Connor

Well done everyone and soon we will be winning open races.
