A few points for the remaining timetrials.
- There have been a few complaints about dangerous riding. Particularly at the junction of the golf club. Riders must obey the rules of the road at all times. Riders must not cross onto the wrong side of the road or its instant DQ.
- At the start of the timetrial please accumulate inside the hard shoulder and not out in the middle of the road.
- When riders are approaching the turnarounds please signal to the cars behind when approaching the turn. Please make sure the it is safe to turn before turning.
- Some riders feel its ok to be out in the middle of the road for the time trial. Please ride on the yellow broken line just outside the hard shoulder and when passing another rider please make them aware that you are approaching by calling outside.
- When the timetrial is finished please don't circle back to ask the timekeeper what time you achieved. The results will be posted ASAP after the event on our website and whatsoninsligo.ie.
- Similarly find out your start time before the timetrial. Don't be approaching the timekeeper and starter looking for your start time. They have a job to do and this distracts them leading to mistakes
- Please avoid passing the start line. Either use the footpath or warm up on a turbo trainer. There are instances when riders are starting and other riders are passing as they start. Bad etiquette
