Second Pool Swim Term (nearly time for the sea!)

As mentioned in the previous post, the second term of the Sligo Triathlon Club swim training sessions get underway in March, with the first session on 9th March.

The sessions are in their second year and take place in the Sligo Regional Sports Complex Pool on Tuesday (10pm) and Friday (7pm) evenings.

Classes are structured in approach with both technique and fitness drills incorporated, all overseen by club swimming coaches. Stroke analysis by underwater video is carried out where swimmers strokes are analysed with club coaches at regular intervals. They build towards the triathlon summer season with weekly swims in Rosses Point beginning in May.

All levels of swimmers are welcome, we’ve had swimmers struggling to do ten lengths of the pool attend the sessions and go on to complete Olympic distance triathlons within a year.

The term lasts eight weeks. Places are very limited so please get in touch (sligocitytriathlon@gmail.com) to reserve your place.

Club Swim Coaching, reminder

Term 1 of swim training finishes on the week of 2nd & 5th March (next week).

Term 2 will begin the following week, 9th & 12th March with the same times and days, Tues 10pm and Friday 7pm. We’d like to confirm how many people want spaces for the second term so please contact the club swim officer at sligocitytriathlon@gmail.com to reserve your place.

Places are not automatically carried over from term 1 so make sure to get in touch if you’d like to continue. We will do another video stroke analysis session towards the end of the term. In term 2 we will continue to work on improving stroke and start working on your endurance etc as well....
